Tips in Finding a Job During the COVID-19 Crisis

The COVID-19 pandemic had shaken up the whole world and made everyone realize, going through the hassles of commuting and accomplishing daily tasks at work wasn't so bad after all. This has not helped the cause of people who are just trying to get around and youngins looking for a bright future and a booming career. Let's face it, how are you supposed to get a job not only in this economy, but worse, in the middle of a worldwide pandemic.

Most businesses have been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak which resulted in layoffs, resignations, cutting hours, and hiring freezes. However, there are companies that are still actively hiring and posting new jobs daily to still be able to keep up and to be of service to those who need it the most. Even if most businesses, big and small, have been affected by this outbreak there is still hope and other ways on how you can find a job!

Enhance Your Skills

You're forced into isolation with limited things to do, why not make the most out of it? This can be the perfect time to make the most out of your time to improve the skills you already have, revisit your old hobbies and interest, or to try something you've always wanted to try. With one quick google search, there are numerous YouTube tutorials about anything under the sun and online classes and webinars that you can take to earn certifications to add into your resume. During this quarantine period, it could take a toll on your mental health. So, it would be advisable if you kept yourself busy doing the things you love and you know will help you out in the long run.

Social Media and Job Search Websites

Can't go out? Go online! Thanks to the good ol’ internet, you can do things efficiently at your fingertips. One google search away, you are able to find jobs that cater to you. There are numerous job hunting websites you can choose from, such as www.nezdaglobal.com. With the help of these, you can check job postings that fit your description, check out benefits, and help you broaden your connections. Amidst all of this, just remember that there are companies that are still hiring. The application portion is done, how about the interview? Because of the pandemic, most companies are opting for video call interviews and allow you to submit certain requirements online. If you can't go to the interview, let it come to you! Now, that doesn't mean that you should prepare less for these interviews. Dress up and look presentable for video call interviews and prepare your responses for phone call interviews.

Stay In Touch

Be alert! Make sure to act fast when looking for opportunities online. You would NOT want to miss a call, text or email. Make it a habit to always check them and reply as soon as you can! Your willingness to apply for the job position will help you stand out among the other candidates and impress employers. Stay on the lookout for referrals that might come your way. Don't let opportunities wait! Online job hunting can become very competitive, especially in our current situation.

Choose To Be Optimistic!

If there’s a will, there's a way! You might be thinking that it is easier said than done, but what is success without hardships? Train your mind to see the good in every situation. Freshen up your mindset and think about goals you will still be able to achieve even in isolation. All of this is a battle we have to face together and backing out should not be an option. Say it with us, “No one can stop me!” There is no harm in trying and trying as long as you can make sure that you do not turn a blind eye to potential opportunities you could have. If you can stay positive in a negative situation you will always win! So, hang in there because your time will come.
