September 28, 2022, Makati City – NEZDA VILLE is our way of ensuring a bright future for the marginalized youth of indigenous communities. One of our goals is to provide accessible education to the indigenous people around our country and the deprived Filipino youth.
While most of us are focused on finding ways to get back on their feet in this new normal we live in, Nezda has not forgotten its commitment to empowering indigenous communities in our country. And Since Nezda believes that education improves the lives of others and makes our community and the world a better place to live, the construction of Nezda VILLE facilities continue to give hope to indigenous children and help them achieve their dreams, no matter what their circumstances are.
On September 25, 2022, we were able to open our third and biggest Nezda VILLE in Sitio Papatahan – Paete, Laguna despite having a super typhoon during the inauguration and the signal was raised to Signal No. 5. Volunteers had to walk more than 2 kilometers in muddy, unpaved roads just to reach the learning center.
The said Nezda Ville consists of 4 rooms, 1 computer room and 3 classrooms for first graders to high school students. We have also provided 10 computers sets for this learning center, along with a printer that can be used by the Dumagat tribe of the area.
Nezda VILLE is a project that promotes educational success by providing free educational resources that encourage indigenous children. These learning centers are educational establishments that combine traditional and 21st century technology and culture to provide free and sustainable learning opportunities. Each center is equipped with computer sets, a mini-library with a variety of books for all ages, educational toys and daily study sessions with local teachers hired through the local community. Students are encouraged to use the center for modules and assignments with their teachers as tutors.
Giving and helping has become our passion. It is not about how much we give, but how much love we put into giving. Building and constructing Nezda Ville and extending our hands to provide free educational resources won’t stop here. We will continue to create a better world, one village at a time. Nobody is left behind.
